WLA ANNOUNCES FIRST & SECOND TEAM ALL-STARS
Burnaby, BC – The WLA is pleased to announce the 2022 First and Second Team All-Stars. This group
includes twelve players who have excelled throughout the 2022 WLA season. After two years off
because of the COVID-19 pandemic, these twelve players demonstrated excellence with their play and
were key members of their respective teams.
The First team includes Coquitlam Adanacs goaltender, Christian Del Bianco, who finished the
regular season with 794 saves and an .842 save percentage.
On defense, Adam Wiedemann of the Nanaimo Timbermen and Drew Belgrave of the
New Westminster Salmonbellies lead the way. Wiedemann brought speed and skill from the back end,
finishing the season with 16 points, leading Nanaimo’s transition game. Belgrave brought an
abundance of poise, experience, and athleticism to the Salmonbellies defense, tallying 11 points in
15 games.
On Offense, Dylan Watson of the Coquitlam Adanacs, Jesse King from the Victoria Shamrocks, and
Haiden Dickson from the New Westminster Salmonbellies round out the First Team.
Watson finished the regular season with 47 points, averaging 3.9PPG throughout the season. King has
been the WLA points leader throughout the season and will look to get past the 100- point mark in
the post-season. King finished with 99 points. Finally, rookie Haiden Dickson finished the season
leading the league in goals, with 40. The rookie had a stellar first season and was always a threat
on the right side for the Salmonbellies.
The goaltender selected for the Second All-Star Team is Zach Higgins, from the New Westminster
Salmonbellies. Higgins finished the season with a .825% save percentage, and 658 saves.
Dallas Wade from the Victoria Shamrocks, and Brett Draper from the Coquitlam Adanacs were selected
as defenders, while Jon Phillips and Zach Manns from the Nanaimo Timbermen, and Marshal King from
the Victoria Shamrocks were selected on offense. Phillips led the Timberme in points throughout the
season, finishing the regular season with 65. Manns, just behind Phillips finished his regular
season with 44 points, averaging 3.7PPG. Finally, Marshal King finished the season third overall in
points (75), goals (33), and assists (42), helping the Shamrocks to their post-season run.
